Correcting an encounter created on the incorrect track

If you accidentally create an encounter under the incorrect track, follow these steps to update the track on the encounter. 

Note: You cannot update the track directly on the created encounter. This article will walk you through deleting the encounter you created and creating a new one. Only follow these steps if you have not completed any part of your SOAP Note, or if you are prepared to delete any information you've input into the SOAP Note.


1. Delete the encounter that was created with the incorrect track. 
Any information input into this encounter will be lost. Only the provider on the encounter can delete the encounter. 

 

2. Cancel check-in on the related appointment. 

 

3. Update the appointment details to the intended track. 

 

4. Check-in the appointment to recreate the encounter under the correct track.
