Ordering & Managing Tests

You can order a test from three different locations in ChiroUp depending on your workflow:

  • Plan Wizard
    • Fastest option for providers to order tests directly from the SOAP note.
  • Test Detail Module
    • Best for staff without access to the SOAP Note
  • Chart 
    • Best for ordering tests outside of an encounter. These orders do not populate into the SOAP note.

💡Pro Tip: Make sure your Tests and Providers & facilities databases are built out so you can create test orders! 


Order a Test from the Plan Wizard (Providers)

🌟 From Plan Wizard: 

1. Navigate to the Plan Wizard within the patient's encounter. 

2. Under the Imaging & Tests section click the RX icon. 

 

3. Enter test details including the Facility & Test type. Don't forget to select your billing code for in-house tests! 

Optionally, indicate test Specifics (Sides, Views, etc). 

 

4. After clicking Save, the test will show within the Plan Wizard. 

 

View your test orders anytime from the Tests Detail Module or Patient Chart. 

 
 

Order a Test from Tests Detail (Staff)

🌟 From Tests Detail:

1. Navigate to the Tests detail module within the patient's encounter.

2. Any previously ordered tests will appear here, but otherwise, to order a new test, click the +Add Test Order button.

 

3. Enter test details including the Facility & Test type. Don't forget to select your billing code for in-house tests! Optionally, indicate test Specifics (Sides, Views, etc). 

4. Click Create Order to save! 

See your test order is saved in the Tests Detail module. Click to view details! 

 

 

Creating a test order from the Tests Detail will also update the Plan Wizard with that test, including any billable unit if applicable!

 
 

Order a Test from the Patient Chart (Outside of Encounter)

🌟 From Patient Chart:

Note: Tests ordered from the Patient Chart do not populate into your SOAP Note. 

1. Navigate to the patient's Chart and then to the Tests & Imaging tab. 

2. Click + Add Test Order

 

3. Enter test details including the Facility & Test type. Optionally, indicate test Specifics (Sides, Views, etc). 

4. Click Create Order to save!

 

5. You'll see all test orders listed here. Click to view additional details! 

 
 

Uploading Test Results

1. Navigate to the patient's Chart and then to the Tests & Imaging tab. 

2. Select the tests you want to upload results for.

3. In the test details panel that opens, drag and drop your results file into the Results section or click Browse to select a file from your computer.

 

4. If you click Browse to select a file, you can choose to have ChiroUp create a memo notifying you that test results have been uploaded for the patient.

 

 

5. After uploading Test Results, the test status will update to Uploaded. You can preview results by hovering over the test and clicking the eye icon

 

 
 

Managing Test Statuses

When you create a test order, the Test status updates to Ordered. 

After results have been uploaded, the Test status updates to Uploaded.

After you've reviewed the Test results, click Mark as Reviewed. This will update the Test status to Reviewed and note who reviewed the results and when. 

Add the Tests & Imaging item to your Patient Info Bar to quickly see the status of your recently ordered Test! 

 

 
 

1. Navigate to the patient's Chart and then to the Tests & Imaging tab. 

2. Select the tests you want to print an order for.

 

3. Click the Order Form button. 

 

4. Click Print. This will open your computer's print screen! 

 
 

💡Pro Tip:

When ordering an in-house test from the encounter (Plan Wizard or Tests Detail), be sure to select the billing code so it imports into your purchase.

If you don't select which service code you'd like to use, no service code will populate into the purchase.
