Provider compensation rates

You can set specific provider compensation rates for the treatments and supplements/supplies that your clinic offers. It is important to set compensation rates in order to accurately track provider compensation.

When you set a compensation rate for a specific treatment or supplement/supply, the system will track payments received for those treatments/supplements/supplies at the rate you've created. This is all tracked within the Compensation Report. It is vital to set any needed compensation rates before go-live to ensure compensation is tracked correctly. You cannot back-date compensation rates if the rates are not entered properly before go-live.

Compensation rates are most relevant for tracking revenue generated by providers at multi-provider clinics.

Here's how to set a Provider Compensation rate:

1) Navigate to the profile icon in the top right corner and select Clinic settings.

2) Select the Billing tab and then Compensation Rates.

3) Click the +Add button.

4) Enter compensation details— including name, default rate, applicable treatment(s)/supply(s), and any provider-specific rate adjustments.

The name field is just the label you are giving to this rate! It will not impact what is tracked.

Select the Supplements/Supplied and/or Treatment Types you would like to track compensation for. The rate (%) that you enter into the Default Rate field is the rate at which we will track compensation for all providers on the account. If certain providers earn an alternative percentage, enter that provider and their respective rate under Provider Custom Rates.

In the example above, the compensation rate is set to track 90% of revenue generated for New Patient Exam and New Injury appointments for all providers—except Dr. Becki, whose rate is tracked at 100%.

So, if a patient has a New Patient Exam with Dr. Becki and a $100 payment is received, the Compensation Report will show Dr. Becki’s compensation amount as $100. For other providers, it would show $90 for the same payment amount.

Notes!

  • The default rate that you set is the rate that will apply to all providers unless you've also added a custom rate for that provider.
  • Compensation rates cannot be deleted once created.
  • Each treatment type and supplement & supply can only have one corresponding compensation rate.
  • Compensation rates are based on the payment received on specific treatment or supplement/supply purchases.
